Marcel Broodthaers, Pense-Bête, Bruxelles (self-published), 1964
Herbert Foundation is pleased to invite you on Sunday 21 June at 3pm for a Visit with Joris D’hooghe. D’hooghe is currently preparing a Ph.D. at the Vrije Universeit in Brussels on the oeuvre of Marcel Broodthaers. As an art critic he published in rekto:verso, Ons Erfdeel and Kunsttijdschrift Vlaanderen and wrote for the catalogue Carte du monde poétique, published by Herbert Foundation in 2015.
His Visit will concentrate on the exhibition Carte du Monde Poétique and focuses specifically on Broodthaers’ transition in 1964 from poet to artist. Departing from the exhibited works and documents, D’hooghe will explore the intersection between poetry and the visual arts that characterizes Broodthaers’ oeuvre.
