In Sur l’utopie & Erratum (1976), 1982, the first book work by Jan Vercruysse, the artist consciously misuses the publishing convention of an ‘erratum’, an overview of printing errors, to point to thinking errors.
During the closing weekend of the current double exhibition Avis au lecteur and Sumptuous Allegories of Nothingness in Herbert Foundation – Loods, Nikolaas Verstraeten will lead a final guided tour on Sunday 27 July, at 11 a.m. The deliberate use of literary ‘faux pas’ in the works by Rodney Graham and Jan Vercruysse will form the starting point of the tour.
