Sunday 10 May, 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Visit: Open Dialogue
With guide Jade
“We want to receive visitors in a way that enables an individual experience and promotes dialogue and discussion.” (Anton Herbert)
‘Open Dialogues’ is a series of monthly guided tours of the exhibition RED AND GREEN AND BLUE MORE OR LESS, works and documents of Lawrence Weiner, at Herbert Foundation – Loods.
During an Open Dialogue tour, one of our guides introduces visitors to the Lawrence Weiner’s work, leaving room for questions and dialogue. No reservation needed.
On Sunday 10 May at 4 p.m. the Open Dialogue will be led by guide Jade:
“Often, people tend to look at art with the technique and the maker in mind, whereas for me it is also important to approach art as an image that invites reflection, as a kind of contemplative medium. When the material aspects of the work are removed, more room for introspection remains. When someone sees letters on a wall, they cannot simply glance at them: words always demand attention. The typeface, the form, and the colour can be questioned, and that remains important, but what truly matters here is the sentence. Weiner’s work asks its viewers to slow down, to read, and to think; a demand that is very welcome in this overstimulating digital age.”
