Guided tour by Joris Kritis
This guided tour of RED AND GREEN AND BLUE MORE OR LESS – Works and Documents of Lawrence Weiner explores the tension between form and content in Weiner’s practice, and the ambiguous ways in which he has engaged with graphic design throughout his career.
In dialogue with Inge Ketelers and Michaël Bussaer, who provided the graphic design of the Lawrence Weiner works on the wall, the tour examines selected works with a focus on their graphic articulation. Particular attention will be paid to books, posters, and invitations as spaces where meaning is both structured and unsettled by form.
Joris Kritis studied graphic design at Sint-Lucas Ghent and participated in the Werkplaats Typografie from 2006 to 2008. Since 2014, he has run a graphic design practice in Brussels, with a primary focus on editorial design and exhibition graphics in the fields of art and architecture. Alongside his commissioned work, he is art director of Architecture Without Content, and in 2025 he initiated Kritis Books, a publishing project dedicated to graphic design.
Michaël Bussaer is a graphic designer currently based in Ghent who has run his own independent studio since 1997. Clients range from independent artists and cultural institutions to theatre/dance companies, among others. Alongside his studio practice he teaches Graphic Design at LUCA School of Arts, Sint-Lucas Ghent since 2002 (www.michaelbussaer.be)
Inge Ketelers is a graphic designer, who has been running her own studio since 1993. She works for and with artists, museums, publishers and institutions. Her collaboration with the Herbert collection began long before Herbert Foundation was established. Alongside her studio practice she teaches at LUCA School of Arts Ghent. (www.ingeketelers.be)
